MELBA Design Festival is Bulgaria's largest annual design symposium, organized by the amazing studio Komplekt. For the third consecutive year, they partnered with us to craft the brand identity for the festival’s seventh edition. Operating at the intersection of creative innovation and professional design, this event draws international talent including Studio Najbrt and The New Raw to Sofia each November.

Our scope encompassed developing a complete visual language—from logo design to spatial branding—that marries contemporary typography (via Fontfabric's Muller Next and Nickainley) with a vibrant, dessert-inspired colour palette of berry hues and creamy whites.
The project’s deliverables showcase a meticulous balance between playful creativity and professional polish, manifested across various touchpoints including a responsive website, space branding, and marketing collateral. All designs are centred around the idea of creating an immersive experience that could seamlessly translate from digital to physical environments whilst maintaining the festival's reputation for creative excellence.
The resulting visual identity successfully (1) captures the creative tension between structured and fluid elements to mirror the event’s dynamic nature, and (2) positions MELBA as one of the must-visit Eastern European design meetups.
