100% PLOVDIV
Commissioned by the Plovdiv 2019 Foundation, 100% PLOVDIV is a unique theatre project that brought 100 citizens together to depict the true face of Plovdiv. We created a pocket-sized book detailing the personal stories of the participants, intertwining their narratives with official city statistics to capture the essence of the city.

100% PLOVDIV, initiated by the Plovdiv 2019 Foundation as part of the European Capital of Culture programme, was a powerful documentary theatre play portraying the city's multifaceted identity through its people. The selection of participants followed an intriguing "chain reaction" process, where each individual chosen selected another within a 24-hour period, leading to a rich cross-section of Plovdiv’s population, based on gender, age, religion, and political views.
Our task was to design a pocket-sized book that not only told the personal stories of these 100 citizens but also highlighted official statistics that reflect the city's demographic landscape. The book was an integral part of the project, offering a tangible connection to the play’s themes. We combined photography with custom illustrations to bring each individual’s story to life, ensuring that every narrative contributed to the overarching exploration of Plovdiv’s diverse cultural fabric.
