Gallery Catalogue With a Twist
Commissioned by Goethe-Institut Bulgaria, we designed an innovative archival catalogue for their 2019 gallery exhibitions. Featuring two interlinked booklets, the design challenges traditional narrative formats, allowing the viewer to engage with the content in multiple ways. The result is an artistic and intellectual dialogue between the two booklets.
For Goethe-Institut Bulgaria’s 2019 gallery catalogue, we were tasked with creating a visually dynamic archival piece that broke away from traditional, linear formats. We crafted two interconnected booklets, which could be enjoyed together or separately, creating an engaging contrast between opposing elements. The design features bold black and grey covers with geometric shapes that play with negative space, while inside, soft greys and pale yellows set a calm yet engaging tone. This dual-booklet structure invites the reader to make new connections or embrace confusion, reflecting the diverse artistic expressions showcased by the gallery. The project was a fusion of culture and design, merging sophisticated narrative with an approachable, playful aesthetic, ensuring that the works of local artists are not only documented but experienced in a new way.
