The РБ/RB Artist Catalogue, commissioned by Sarieva Gallery, breaks conventions to mirror the unique world of contemporary artist Rada Boukova. Rather than a traditional biography, the publication delves into the multifaceted nature of Boukova’s work, with a layout designed to mirror the fluidity and chaos within her art.
To create the catalogue, we embraced a non-linear, dual-format design to reflect the duality within Rada Boukova’s artistic world, unfolding in two distinct parts. The structured "RB" half aligns text and images with clarity and logic, offering a seamless flow for the reader. In contrast, the intuitive "РБ" half embraces chaos, with fluid layouts and shifting compositional elements that evoke curiosity and encourage exploration. Pages twist and shift, creating a visual narrative that mirrors the complexity of Boukova’s work. The cover, featuring her iconic piece "Bikini", acts as both a symbolic and navigational element, guiding the reader through the catalogue’s experimental structure. Our design aimed not only to present Boukova’s work but also to transform the publication itself into an art object.
