New Year’s Music Festival Rebrand

We crafted the identity for the 38th New Year’s Music Festival, a cultural event loved and anticipated by many Bulgarians and hosted by NDK for over 30 years. This was our first collaboration with them, and we brought a new, elegant look to a festival that celebrates classical music, jazz, folk, opera, and more. Our design unifies heritage with modernity, capturing the festive spirit of this emblematic event.

Visual Identity

For the first time in its history, the New Year’s Music Festival at the National Palace of Culture (NDK) has an actual brand identity, and we had the honor of creating it. The goal? A complete visual transformation, replacing decades-old logos with a fresh, modern, and elegant identity. At the heart of the concept lies the stylization of musical instruments, a nod to the festival’s rich and diverse program. Every design choice was made to favor both tradition and innovation because a festival of this caliber deserves nothing less.

This wasn’t just a facelift; it was a full-scale symphony of design decisions. The brand new Cyrillic adaptation of WT Kormelink typeface (used for the first time for this project) took center stage. Its elegant italic embellishments perfectly capture the festival’s classical essence. Since New Year’s Eve is a nighttime celebration, we carefully crafted a color scheme that embraces deep, nocturnal tones, blending festive reds, purples, and greens with rich brown accents inspired by the festival’s main event, the Concert on January 1st.

From concert posters to outdoor banners, from event program designs to brochures and other print materials, the new identity sings across every touchpoint. Each application harmonizes the festival’s legacy with its evolution, striking a nice balance between tradition and transformation. For the first time, the New Year’s Music Festival doesn’t just sound incredible, it looks incredible, too.
