Studio Zmei’s Rebranding
Studio Zmei, Bulgaria's leading 2D animation studio, sought a comprehensive brand refresh that would capture their creative mastery whilst paying homage to their mythological namesake.

The project centred around crafting a distinctive visual identity anchored by a charismatic mascot—a modernised take on the traditional Bulgarian 'zmei', a mystical snake-like flying creature, believed to be a spirit of the storms and clouds and a protector from hail and drought.
Working closely with Studio Zmei’s team, we delivered a cohesive brand package encompassing a dynamic new logo, bespoke typography, presentation templates, social media assets, and merchandise designs.
The visual language seamlessly blends contemporary design sensibilities with folkloric elements, employing a vibrant colour palette dominated by striking reds that nods to both the studio's cultural roots and their forward-thinking approach to animation.
