Wall Mural Inspired by Plovdiv

Costa Coffee’s renovation and redesign initiative across Bulgaria presented an exciting opportunity to collaborate on a unique project in Plovdiv. As a design studio deeply rooted in the city, we were inspired to create a mural that celebrates our city’s rich heritage and vibrant urban life.

Our vision came to life thanks to a nice collaboration with a talented local artist. The mural, now a centrepiece at Costa Coffee on the lively pedestrian street, captures the essence of Plovdiv with intricate illustrations nestled together. The artwork weaves a narrative of daily life, featuring diverse generations, local street cats, iconic historical landmarks, and cultural symbols— all united by the universal joy of coffee. Incorporating Costa Coffee’s brand colours, the mural effortlessly blends with the café’s refreshed aesthetic, infusing the space with warmth and energy. The thoughtful use of pastel pink and milky white tones enhances the atmosphere, creating a sense of belonging and community. This project allowed us to merge storytelling with design, transforming the café into more than just a place to gather. It has become a cultural hub, resonating with both locals and visitors and enriching their experience with a deep sense of place.
